Wood Frame Installation
(not sold by 1-800-THE-SIGN)
Tools Needed
  1. Hammer
  2. Tape Measure or Ruler
  3. Shovel or Post Hole Digger
*Note 4'x4' signs only need two 4 foot horizontal supports
Materials Needed
  1. Two 4"x4" by 8 foot posts
  2. Three 1"x2" by 8 foot horizontal supports*
  3. Twelve 2 ½" inch nails (referred to as 8d common nails)
  4. Thirty 1¼" inch roofing nails

STEP 1 - Dig The Holes

Dig the holes 7 feet apart and 18" to 24" deep (depending on the soil) in the desired location. The reason we recommend digging the holes first is that if there are any obstacles that require the 7 foot distance to be adjusted step two does not need to be repeated.

STEP 2 - Assemble The Frame

On a flat surface lay the posts parallel and spaced 7 foot apart (or a distance equal to your hole distance). One at a time, nail the horizontal supports to the posts. The top and bottom supports should measure 44 inches from the outside edges.

STEP 3 - Apply The Sign

Unfold the sign. With the frame flat on the ground apply the sign into position. Nail the sign face securely to the frame.

STEP 4 - Place In The Holes

The light weight design makes it possible for one person to maneuver the assembled sign into place. Ensure the sign is level and back fill the holes packing them tightly.
